With Leo Held, 4th Dan, certified trainer, supervisor and coach, the participants in the trainer training course of the Palatinate Judo Association in Zeiskam had an experienced teacher. He coached the Swiss judokas three times at the Olympic Games and was coach of the year in Switzerland in 2008. Held is a down-to-earth man who hasn’t forgotten his roots. The man from Lustadt (in the picture on the right, with Jonas Harrer from 1. JC Zweibrücken) started with judo when BC Zeiskam was founded and, through hard training and enormous ambition, made it to the senior championship title in 1986 and made it into the national team. During the course he skillfully conveyed the “long-term technical/tactical performance development of a judoka”. The two judo experts Ulrich Klocke (8th Dan) and Walter Trapp (7th Dan, seven-time senior world champion) had traveled all the way from North Rhine-Westphalia. They enriched the course. State instructor Thomas Föllinger and the participants said goodbye to the trio after seven hours with a loud round of applause.
