Kenny Atkinson, Darvin Ham, Sean Sweeney y Mike D’Antoni

If we recently reported the alleged interest of the Charlotte Hornets in hiring Quin Snyder if he were finally released, journalist Adrian Wojnarowski’s sources have confirmed a list of four candidates to interview to take over the vacant position on his bench: Kenny Atkinson, Darvin Ham, Sean Sweeney and Mike D’Antoni.

Kenny Atkinson, who was in charge of the Brooklyn Nets between 2016 and 2020, is currently an assistant coach to Steve Kerr on the Golden State Warriors. Prior to his arrival at the Oakland franchise, he was also an assistant coach for a single season at the Los Angeles Clippers.

For his part, Darvin Ham, also an assistant to Mike Budenholzer in the Milwaukee Bucks, recently aroused the interest of the Los Angeles Lakers after confirming the dismissal of Fran Vogel at the end of the regular season.

Finally, Mike D’Antoni, who has a long history on the NBA bench and whose last stop was the Houston Rockets before dismantling his project, has been Steve Nash’s assistant at Brooklyn Nets since last 2020 along with his old former pupil Amar’e Stoudemire. The Italian-American has a great relationship with general manager Mitch Kupchak after his time with the Lakers between 2012 and 2014.
