Werne. Three judoka from TV Werne had qualified for the district championship last Saturday. Timo Rüschenschmidt even made it to the Westphalian title fights.
All three Werner started in the U13 age group. Vitus Schneider fought in the largest
Combat group (-40 kg) of the day. In his first fight he had to face off against the later
beat group winners. He won fights two and three with a good one
Fußtechnik.
In the fourth fight, Vitus Schneider was thrown with a sovereign throw by his opponent with Ippon (name for victory point). He earned a deserved seventh place.
Jakob Wiesmann and Timo Rüschenschmidt both started in the fighting group up to 46 kg: Jakob showed good fights and in the end it was enough for him for fifth place.
Timo Rüschenschmidt fought his way into second place. He was able to win his three fights won on the ground. In a duel with the later group winners, he had to admit defeat after a referee decision, but still managed to qualify for the Westphalian Championship in Herten on June 11, 2022.
