Vigo player of the Badminton Cies club Jacobo Fernández underwent surgery yesterday, at the Cemtro Clinic in Madrid, on his right knee to remove a ganglion (cyst) that for a year has prevented him from training and playing normally. The intervention was carried out by the prestigious doctor Pedro Guillén.
He feared, given the pain it caused him, that it could affect more structures in the knee, but after analyzing the entire joint through arthroscopy, Dr. Guillén concluded that the rest of the knee was in perfect condition. The ganglion was of considerable size but neither the menisci nor the ligaments are affected. Therefore, the idea is to consider facing the next season from July.
