Indonesia has a great opportunity to take a shortcut to the 2023 Asian Cup, PSSI’s response is awaited by the end of June

The AFC has not yet appointed the host of the 2023 Asian Cup after China withdrew on May 14, 2022, arguing that the COVID-19 pandemic was still ongoing.

However, the Asian football federation has offered to all its members to be able to hold the annual event.

“We sent bid documents to 47 countries, but they have to show interest and fulfill all guarantees,” said AFC Secretary General Datuk Seri Windsor John, as quoted by BolaSport.com from the New Straits Times.



The AFC asks all its members to respond well and wait for their response until the end of June.

PSSI as the parent organization of Indonesian football also received the offer, but has not yet responded.

If Indonesia submits itself as the host, the Indonesian national team will automatically qualify for the 2023 Asian Cup finals.

Garuda troops do not need to fight over the remaining 11 tickets in the 2023 Asian Cup Qualification on 8-14 June 2022.
