KOMPAS.com – Gregoria Mariska Tunjung revealed her current condition. The Indonesian women’s singles badminton player admits that she is in a bad situation.

Gregoria Mariska Tunjung’s statement is to answer public doubts about her achievements. It was predicted that he would be a challenger to a prestigious championship, but Gregoria’s achievements have declined.

Most recently, Gregoria failed to present a gold medal for Indonesia at the 2021 SEA Games in Vietnam. He could only bring Indonesia to a bronze medal.

In fact, she had expressed hope as a symbol of the revival of the Indonesian women’s singles after winning the 2017 World Junior Championships title.

However, since appearing at a professional level, the 22-year-old seems to have not shown his capacity. At a tournament organized by BWF, Gregoria last won the 2018 Finnish Open.

This fact made Gregoria reflect on his career. He poured it out through a long tweet on personal Twitter social media.

In the contents of his tweet, the player who was born in Wonogiri, Central Java, invited him to talk about his career over the last four years.

He feels that he has not progressed, which can be seen from his achievements so far.

“I want to tell you a little about how I feel in my current career,” said Gregoria Mariska on her personal Twitter account, as reported by BolaSport.com from Tribunnews.

“With what we know and see, my progress over the past four years is nothing to be proud of.”

“I really know. Maybe for some athletes who are going through the same situation as me, they definitely need encouragement and support from those closest to them,” he continued.

Currently, regarding his performance, Gregoria wants to re-gather his happiness in playing badminton. Therefore, he will fight hard in training sessions to show his prowess on the field.

“For now, I want to find happiness in badminton within myself,” said Gregoria.

“Try to do your best in training as well as outside.”

Even in his tweet, Gregoria issued a discourse about quitting as a badminton player.

On the one hand, Gregoria also asked for prayers to Indonesian badminton lovers as a form of assistance.

“If I stop (battle) and find another way, I will try to keep getting better,” wrote Gregoria.

“It’s okay if you want to help me through prayer.”

“I really appreciate it,” he added.

If Gregoria really retires, of course Indonesia will lose one of the mainstay badminton players in the women’s singles number.
