“Get me out, I can’t take it anymore”, Byron Castillo devastated by the pressure of his case

What began as a lawsuit against a player for alleged false nationality in the Qatar 2022 Qualifiers has already transcended the personal and psychological issue, making it clear that Byron Castillo, who represented the Ecuadorian National Team, has been the one greatly affected by said situation.

For several weeks the issue has been developing and with six months remaining from the start of the World Cup, the presence of Ecuador in the opening match is still on hold due to the lawsuit filed by the Chilean federation (ANFP) and the investigation that keeps the Fifa against defender Byron Castillo.

Gustavo Alfaro and his team trust that the austral team will not appeal and they will be in Doha in November to play in the group stage. The problem is that the decision has been delayed, Well, until now there is no official communication that allows them to take a breath and think clearly about sports.

Fifa gave the Ecuadorian federation (FEF) an initial deadline to present its defense arguments. However, this Friday it was learned that they requested an extension of 15 more days to collect all the evidence that, in their opinion, exempts them from any responsibility in the face of doubts about Castillo’s nationality.

Meanwhile, the player is still in force and makes up the current list of Barcelona de Guayaquil, an Ecuadorian league team that this weekend played a local championship game against Aucas, which lost as a visitor 2-1 and where Castillo was immersed in an error that produced the penalty and subsequent goal with which the local took the advantage.

The play that could have transpired for another player in a normal way, emotionally hit the defender who was the one who made the mistake and devastated him to the point of putting pressure on himself, to go through tears to his technical bench repeatedly asking to be substituted immediate way: “Get me out, I can’t take it anymore.”

This image, which quickly went viral, put into orbit the feeling of the human being, which is well above sports and which gave clear signs that for the footballer everything that has arisen has affected him in a very direct way.

The player’s coach, after the commitment, spoke about the matter to try to put into context everything that Castillo could be suffering in the middle of the case for which he is accused: “He is a victim of the media power of modern times. Not from you, but from modern times. She has a very difficult emotional burden to carry. For me it is admirable that she gets to train ”.

In turn, Jorge Célico, strategist for the defender at Barcelona de Guayaquil, asked for a little more understanding to handle the issue: “It goes through the issue of the federation and the struggle that exists about whether it is or is not, whether it was or it was not, if there is a trial or there is no trial, added to a little problem that came up now before traveling to Venezuela. Let’s all be a little more docile.”

“When I saw what happened to him, I was very sorry, that’s why he doesn’t come out before. I warmed up Pedro Pablo more or less at minute 32, but I didn’t make the change because it was a fatal blow, and that’s where the penalty came from. I prefer to stay with the facet of the human being and not think of a simple result”, concluded the Argentine in defense of his player.

Trying to support him and generate a friendlier environment around the player, Castillo’s club created the number: #TodosSomosByron.
