This was Germany’s second win in three games, but France suffered a second loss and their chances of fighting for the top four in the Helsinki group have diminished.

The German national team took the lead already in the 128th second of the game, with Daniel Fischbuh taking the majority. Five minutes before the end of the first period, France also used a numerical majority – Alexander Tessier scored an excellent “one timer” shot.

At the end of the first period, Alexander Ele regained control of Germany, but France played again, accurately throwing Ugo Gale in the middle of the second period. In the sixth minute of the last third, Leonard Foderl put Germany in the lead for the third time in the game, but later did not take the opportunity to increase his lead several times. At the end of the match, France replaced the goalkeeper with the sixth player of the field and “shot” the opponents’ goal for two and a half minutes, but Germany passed the last offensive, reaching three important points.

In the continuation of the tournament, Germany will still have to play against Denmark, Italy, Kazakhstan and Switzerland in the quarterfinals. France, meanwhile, must continue to play against Italy, Denmark, Switzerland and Canada, so the French have to do little to compete for the top four in the Helsinki group.
