Gandia, venue for the promotion phase to LEB Plata basketball

The club has expanded the capacity of the municipal pavilion to 1,500 people

The city of Gandia will host the matches for the promotion phase to LEB Plata. The Sports Councillor,
Lydia Morant accompanied by the vice-president of the club United for Basketball (UPB),
Jesus Ginestar, They have given the details of the last minute about the contest, which will be held in Gandía from May 12 to 15.

As explained by the mayor of the PSPV, the phases of the four promotion groups will be held in Huelva and Gandia. In the case of the city, the two groups that will face each other in the pavilion of the municipal sports center will be the following:

Subgroup 4. Made up of the teams from Castelldefels, Usal la Antigua, CB Pozuelo and NB Paterna who will play the matches at 10:30 and 12:45.

Subgroup 3. Made up of the teams from Gandia, Rivas, Baskonia and Salou who will play the tie at 5:00 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. In the case of Unidos por el Baloncesto Gandia, all matches will be played at 7:30 p.m.

Morant explained that an emergency plan has been drawn up so that the development of the competition is perfect. “As we will have fans from all over Spain, a special device is being coordinated with the National Police to guarantee the safety of all attendees.”

“These match days we all have an appointment in the pavilion. It is important that we give the team our support because these phase matches are special and the public has a prominent role”.

The person in charge of sports has also informed that during the days of competition the participating teams will be able to carry out their training sessions in the Raval pavilion.

For its part, Ginestar wanted to thank the City Council for its collaboration. “From the moment of the announcement of the venue we have had all the collaboration of the council and especially Lydia. We have had everything we have asked for”.

Ginestar also made reference to his appearance about the role played by the Department of Tourism in finding accommodation for all the teams, since the hotels in the city are practically full for next weekend.

“Everything is ready and what we want is for the phase to begin. We hope to obtain the promotion to LEB silver that we all want”, Ginestar concluded.
