FUNDS, WOMEN’S BASKETBALL: UNDER 15 QUALIFICATIONS

In Fondi the under 15 interregional qualifiers of women’s basketball: hundreds of athletes arriving. 8 teams will compete, from 6 to 8 May, to win a place in the national finals

Hundreds of athletes arriving in Fondi thanks to the qualifications of the national under 15 women’s basketball finals. The appointment with the interregional phase of one of the most anticipated basketball competitions of the year is at the Palavirtus in via Liguria, from today Friday 6 May until Sunday 8 May.

Eight, in total, the participating teams: the best in central and southern Italy. To compete will be, in concentration A, Firenze Basketball Academy, Mercede Basket Alghero, Unime Messina and 75 ‘Basket Casalnuovo. In concentration B, on the other hand, Verga Palermo, Basket 90 Sassari, Apulia Logistic Pink Bari and San Martino will face each other.

At the Palavirtus, considering the number of underage athletes, who will arrive in Fondi with parents and supporters in tow, the audience for great occasions is expected.

The event, promoted by the youth sector of the Italian Basketball Federation, is organized by Virtus Basket Fondi with the patronage of the Municipality of Fondi.

“Still a great sporting event – comment the mayor of Fondi Beniamino Maschietto and the councilor for Sport Fabrizio Macaro – all this ferment, moreover with very young athletes, is a source of pride for our community and allows us to run in the organizational machine in view of 2023, the year in which, thanks to the title of European City of Sport, Fondi will host major events in many disciplines. This competition, which will be a great pink party, is a source of pride and, at the same time, is very positive for the economy and tourism of the city ».
