OrlandoGerman basketball pro Franz Wagner has been elected to the NBA’s so-called “All-Rookie First Team”. This puts the Orlando Magic winger among the top five rookies in the North American professional league.

84 of the 100 journalists entitled to vote voted Wagner into the “First Team”. The 20-year-old had a strong debut season in the NBA, averaging 15.2 points, 4.5 rebounds and 2.9 assists. In the vote for the best rookie, the native of Berlin landed in fifth place.

Collectively, the Orlando Magic didn’t fare so well, with just 22 wins and 60 losses this season, the Florida team was the second-worst team in the league. In return, the Magic will be allowed to select first place in the annual talent selection.
