Forty athletes from the Cus dell’Insubria competing in Cassino for the 2022 National University Championships – Informazioneonline.it

University of Insubria present at 75th edition of the National University Championships which, after two years of forced stop due to the pandemic, are scheduled for 13 to 22 May in Cassino, Lazio. A real one sports party: ten days of competitions, 20 sports disciplines, over 4000 athletes from all Italian universities, 50 Cus and 82 universities involved, all 22 Italian regions represented.

About forty athletes are represented by the Cus Insubriathe University Sports Center of the University of Insubria, chaired by Eugenio Meschito which other universities in the area also refer in case of national competitions.

The first races are scheduled for 14 and 15 May. For taekwondo, technical manager Stefano Cornacchia, take the field: Riccardo Crisafulli of Motor Sciences and Andrea Naso of Economics and Management, with Lorenzo Soncin of Ecampus. For karate: Riccardo Battioli of Motor Sciences, Alessandro Martina, Beatrice Maddalena Colasante and Edoardo Di Blasio of Ecampus. For judo, on 21 and 22 May, Christian Sagunti of Motor Sciences competes.

On 17 and 18 May fencing: Alessandro Mascheroni of Motor Sciences, Fiorenza Vitelli of Ecampus. The qualifications for tennis are held from 16 to 20 May: Luca Parpagliolo of Dentistry, Leonardo Cassago of Biological Sciences.

From 17 to 21 May it’s up to the men’s basketball team of Insubria which, after the unsurprising qualification obtained in Sardinia and the victory of the Cnu 2019 in L’Aquila, is reconfirmed among the best 8 teams in Italy, coach Andrea De Vita, physiotherapist Alessandro Santaterra. On the field: Mario Simeone Camurati, Simone Cattaneo, Simone Codato, Gianluca Fabbrini, Elia Marangoni, Jonathan Mazzola, Fabio Sampietro, Giulio Petino are Insubria students from the Varese branch; Riccardo Galasso and Davide Sironi frequent the Como office; Paolo Francesco Bellotti and Federico Besio are from Liuc di Castellanza.

Athletics on 21 and 22 May, with technical managers the professors Fabrizio Anselmo and Alberto Larice. Nourished the group of the University of Insubria: Sara Gandolfi of Biotechnology; Linda Noseda, Jacopo Genovese, Edoardo Gnocchi of Motor Sciences; Giovanna Selva, Giacomo Piotti, Thomas Floriani of Medicine and Surgery; Veronica Bona of Physiotherapy; Irene Masiero of Biological Sciences, Giuseppina Pujia of Chemistry and Industrial Chemistry. Then, again for athletics, there are the athletes of the sports colleges of the University of Insubria, Pietro Arese is justified absent, who is engaged in the preparation of international competitions; in competition: Arianna Reniero of Environmental Sciences; Andrea Sambruna, Giovanni Carli and Riccardo Bado of Motor Sciences; Marco Aondio of Economics. The Cus Insubria team for athletics completes: Alessia Gatti and Matteo Boaretto of Ecampus.

In the days of the Cnu 2022, the Cus Insubria is also engaged in other activities. On May 15 in Venice, with a crew coordinated by Mauro Mazzoccato, he participates in the fifth Lion Cup 2022, an international race between universities in Dragon Boat (small boat) that takes place on the Grand Canal. This is an initiative organized by the Ca ‘Foscari and Iuav Universities in collaboration with the Cus Venezia with the aim of bringing young people closer to the world of sport and rowing disciplines and to promote cultural exchange between universities.

Instead, on Saturday 14 May the proposal is at home: from 9 to 18 at PalaInsubria in via Monte Generoso 59, in Varese, the University Sports Center organizes the Cus Games 2022 Ukraine color edition: all the teams that show up wearing entirely one of the two colors of the Ukrainian flag participate in the assignment of a special prize with charitable purposes. Competitions are scheduled for: five-a-side football, beach volleyball, table tennis, ESports (Fifa 2022), scientific scopone, table football and darts.
