Rector Carlos Eduardo Barrera Díaz championed the delegation from Colts that will represent the Autonomous University of the State of Mexico (UAEMéx) in the UACJ National Universiade 2022, to be held from May 13 to June 5, in Ciudad Juárez, Chihuahua.

The ceremony was held on May 11 at the Guillermo Ortega Gymnasium of the UAEMex, a venue that was dressed in green and gold with the contingents of 18 individual and group sports disciplines.
There are 117 university students who make up the UAEMéx delegation: who will seek to achieve national sporting glory in the maximum university sporting event in Mexico that will take place at the Autonomous University of Ciudad Juárez.
The disciplines in which the Autonomous University of the State of Mexico will participate are: chess, athletics, badminton, box, fencing, association soccer, soccer, aerobic gymnastics, handball, judo, karate, weightlifting, university wrestling, taekwondo, tennis table, archery, flag billet and beach volleyball.
The Rector of the UAEMex said he was proud of the university caste they have shown and that has led them to obtain good results in the most important sports event in the country at the national level.
“You have already earned a place to represent your alma mater and it is important that we (the directors) are supporting and that your colleagues who have taken the institution to such an important place in national sports are recognized, as well as you will be recognized for putting our institution on high.”
The rector of the highest house of studies of the entity said he was happy with the restart of face-to-face activities and the reactivation of sport in the face of the new normality, but not without first recommending athletes to follow health instructions and not lower their guard against the COVID-19 disease.
Barrera Díaz added that sport is key in the activities of an institution, since it clears the mind and allows energy to be channeled positively and in peace.
It should be remembered that the Autonomous University of Nuevo León is the current monarch, as it has achieved 16 championships in National Universiades, 14 of them consecutively.
