Elke Weylandt looks scared at the Giro ride with Passo del Bocco where her brother lost his life | cycling

The Giro d’Italia returns today for the first time since 9 May 2011 to the place where Wouter Weylandt was horribly torn from life. The Fleming hit a wall in the descent of the Passo del Bocco with a fatal outcome. It will be an emotional day for the Weylandt family. “I’ve been back to that place regularly,” says sister Elke. “Then I sit on that wall and when you look around you, the realization comes. There he still lived, and not here anymore…”
