Double gold for Javi Marta in the Torrezno de Soria Master Tournament

Javier Marta shone in the IV Torrezno de Soria Tournament for the Master and Senior categories, in which he climbed to the top of the podium in both the Individual and doubles categories, with Manuel Pérez, also from Teruel, both from the Teruel Badminton Club. The competition, which took place at the Fuente del Rey sports center in the capital of Soria on April 30, left Teruel podiums in the Men’s Doubles B1 and Men’s Singles B1 categories.

Individual Category B1 and C1

Marta, who started as the second head of the series, had a full victories in the individual category, winning in the four games she played. The man from Teruel added his four victories without giving up a set, resolving all his individual matches in two sets. Thus, in the group stage they beat Iñaki Vidal (21-6 and 21-8) and José Manuel Bartolomé (21-6 and 21-19) to qualify for the final phase in which they also beat Sergio Juaniz (8 -21 and 7-21) and top seed Isaac Martín (18-21 and 14-21).
For his part, Manuel Ignacio Pérez fell in the group phase after being defeated by Fernando Herrero (21-9 and 21-10) and by Luis Antonio Morcillo (21-6 and 21-8).

The duo from Teruel formed by Javier Marta and Manuel Pérez had no setbacks on their unflappable path towards gold in Torrezno de Soria. The CB Teruel players prevailed in the three matches they played in Men’s Doubles B1. The first of the duels faced Jorge Garrido and Iñaki Vidal, whom they won in two sets (21-5 and 21-10). The rest of the confrontations would have to resort to the tiebreaker to decide the direction of the winner. The people from Teruel had to come back after conceding the first set against José Manuel Bartolomé and Isaac Morcillo (21-8, 18-21 and 13-21), while in the last game they had to defend the first set (21-8, 19- 21 and 21-8).
