Dortmund hijacks season revelation Nico Schlotterbeck from Freiburg | Bundesliga

Dortmund’s defense looks shaky this season: Die Borussen have already conceded 50 goals in 32 Bundesliga games. With Niklas Sule from Bayern Munich, a first defensive reinforcement (free) was already secured in February, with the young Nico Schlotterbeck now a second follows.

Schlotterbeck proved to be a rock in the surf at Freiburg this season. The club surprised friend and foe in the Bundesliga and is fourth in the standings with two games to play, good for a Champions League ticket for the time being. On May 21, Freiburg will play the final of the German Cup against RB Leipzig

Last year, the 22-year-old Schlotterbeck was loaned to Union Berlin, now he is moving to Dortmund next summer. Those Borussen pay about 20 million euros for the central defender, who signs a contract for five seasons.

It is the icing on a top season for Schlotterbeck, who also collected his first two caps for Germany in March. He started in the base at Die Mannschaft in the exhibition matches against Israel (2-0 win) and the Netherlands (1-1).
