Dessers about the future: ”That’s something that also plays in my head”

Cyriel Dessers will talk to Feyenoord about his future after the final of the Conference League. The Rotterdammers would love to work with the striker for longer and are willing to transfer four million euros to KRC Genk. The big question is whether an agreement can also be reached with Dessers.

”It doesn’t feel like my last game”, Dessers begins in conversation with RTV Rijnmond about his future. “I certainly don’t see the final as a goodbye, but I wouldn’t know it myself either. At the moment I have indicated to my agent that I do not want to hear anything at the moment. Especially until after the final. After the final we sit together and then something comes out.”

‘What would I want for myself? I have indicated a few times that I am very happy at Feyenoord”, says Dessers. The striker has put himself in the spotlight and can also choose the big money in the real abroad. ”I am 27 years old, this may also be the chance to really take the step abroad, but I am also aware that Feyenoord is a beautiful and special club. The grass isn’t always greener on the other side. That’s something that’s on my mind too.”

Final AS Roma
The Feyenoord striker realizes that it will not be an easy task and that everything must be perfect on May 25. “I am playing against an Italian team for the first time. I look forward to measuring myself against players of this level. A nice challenge. I like to have a little battle in that game, just like with the Marseille defenders.”

“You see how much it hurts to lose such a final,” says Dessers about the lost Europa League final of Rangers FC. “When you see that, you know which side you don’t want to be on. And that can help. This is a unique opportunity and we have to do everything we can to do our best and bring that game to us.”
