Deportivo Cali: 1-0 victory against Once Caldas summary and chronicle in Liga Betplay | Colombian Soccer | Betplay League

Deportivo Cali defeated Once Caldas as a visitor 0-1 in Manizales by day 18 of the Colombian league in the stadium Palogrande. During the game, the local team was totally superior with many clear goal options, but very little effectiveness and Cali with the clearest one they had, took the three points from the Caldense capital.

In the first minutes of the initial stage, both teams positioned themselves in the middle of the field, with the Caldense team being a little deeper and generating the first long-distance shots with Marlon Piedrahita and Marcelino Carreazo; Cali, for its part, worked to maintain order in the defense and from there to play from the bottom.

After 15 minutes, the sugar workers found spaces in the attack and had the first shots where Paraguayan goalkeeper Gerardo Ortiz responded after shots by Daniel Luna and Teófilo Gutiérrez. The locals had to make the first change due to the injury of Santiago Roa and Brayan Córdoba entered.

At minute 28, Cali had an approach to the rival goal, but the white defense could only reject it without much strength outside the area, midfielder Luna took advantage of the situation and took a cross shot with which he scored the partial 0-1.

In the final minutes of the first half, Eleven continued trying, but they continued without clarity in the last quarter of the field. The clearest were in the minutes of addition with a shot off the post by Nicolas Giraldo and a single shot in front of the goalkeeper that Mender García could not finish.

In the final part, those led by Diego Corredor maintained the offensive dynamic and although they had several dangerous options in the first minutes, the Cali goalkeeper, Humberto Acevedo, became the figure of the match, stopping the shots of Carreazo, Mender García and Ayron Del Valley.

The Verdiblancos began to refresh lines with the entry of Santiago Mosquera, Sebastián Leyton, Carlos Robles, Aldair Gutíerrez and Carlos Lucumí for Teo, Jhon Vásquez, Gian Franco Cabezas, Juan Esteban Franco and Michael Ortega; Nelson Quiñones and Santiago Mera entered the premises for Del Valle and Carreazo, although the same dynamic of the game was maintained.

Once Caldas continued to arrive very clearly, but the ball continued without going into the goal with the goalkeeper remaining as a figure, the defense serving in the final line and hitting the posts, while Cali tried to hold on in their own field and generating some opportunity in The Backlash.

In the end, Cali got a result that is of little use in the table, but in the moral and mental part it is of great virtue for the Copa Libertadores match next Wednesday against Corinthians. For his part, the white complicated his classification to the group of the eight best in the tournament.

On the next date of the Colombian league, Once Caldas will visit Alianza Petrolera and Deportivo Cali will receive Independiente Santa Fe.
