The Danish badminton player Hans-Kristian Vittinghus will end his professional career at the end of the 2023 season at the latest.

He says this on Twitter.

“Exactly when I will stop is still unclear, as I work with different scenarios, which also depend on different factors,” it reads.

The 36-year-old singles player is announcing his upcoming stop already now as it gives him a better opportunity to find the right job after the active career.

“There is no doubt that my future lies in badminton in some way, so I want to have some time now to consider my options and see where it takes me when the time comes next year,” explains Vittinghus .

Among other things, he helped win the Thomas Cup with the Danish national team in 2016, and later the same year he won the first Super Series title of his career when he reached the top of the Australian Open.

However, he still hopes to have good results in him in the autumn of his career.

“My motivation is still there to achieve great things over the next year or so.”

“My body is doing well, so hopefully I can enjoy this last part of my international career in the best possible way and still with lots of support from you guys,” he explains.
