The Cuba team misses the nearby U-15 Caribbean Baseball Cup due to “problems obtaining air tickets on time”, an event that the Dominican Republic will host from this weekend.

The news was made known through the Caribbean Baseball Confederation (COCABE) on its Facebook page, which offered details and shared parts of a statement sent by the Cuban Baseball Federation itself, with the excuse for the team’s absence. Antillean.

“The Cuban Baseball delegation, which was scheduled to face the Dominican Republic in the opening game of this Caribbean Baseball Cup, will not be able to make the trip to Santo Domingo for said event. The information was released via a statement sent to the Confederation”, details COCABE.

“Unfortunately, the Cuban U15 delegation will not be able to participate in the U15 Baseball Caribbean Cup in Santo Domingo due to problems in obtaining air tickets for said event on time. We have had every desire to attend this event, but it has really been impossible to complete the flight procedures”, read the FCB statement they shared.

“With the lack of Cuba in this event, the Cup goes from 4 teams to a 3-team format and the first match will take place at 3pm at the Pley of the Dominican Air Base in San Isidro. In this meeting, the US Virgin Islands will face the host Dominican Republic”, the organization expands.
