Charlloo becomes the absolute champion in the second middleweight category

US boxer Jermel Charlloo became the first absolute champion in the second middleweight class in history in Carson, California on Saturday. Charloy defeated Argentine boxer Braian Castanou in the tenth round with his opponent’s attacks at the start of the fight.

Charlie defended the world champion belts in the World Boxing Association (WBA), World Boxing Council (WBC), International Boxing Federation (IBF) and The Ring magazines five days before his 32nd birthday. He also won a former World Boxing Organization (WBO) champion belt at the disposal of his peer Castanjo. Both fights for these belts took place in July last year, but at that time the duel ended in a draw, so the titles remained with their owners.

During Charlero’s career, he climbed the ring 37 times and won 35, 19 of them with a knockout. Castanjo has 20 fights in his luggage, of which 17 have been celebrated, 12 with a slaughter. The two boxers are now losing one by one, with the Argentine admitting the opponent’s superiority for the first time in his career on Saturday.

Charlloo got his belts in September 2020, when he defeated Jason Rosario, and the Castanjo WBO champion has been since February last year, when he beat Patrick Taysheir.
