This season, like last season, the Champions Trophy will be played at Bloomfield Stadium in Tel Aviv, as announced by the Professional Football League (LFP) in a press release in mid-March. The match will take place on Sunday July 31, a week before the resumption of the championship, set for August 6.

This will be Nantes’ first participation in the Trophée des Champions since 2001, following the title of champion of France won by the Canaries. PSG, for its part, will play its 10th consecutive champions trophy, having only given up one: last season, against LOSC (1-0). The two clubs have already faced each other in this “supercup” of France: it was in January 1996, in Brest, for the first edition of the new Champions Trophy. The Parisians had won (2-2, 6 pens to 5).

During their last meeting, in Nantes on February 19, the Canaries had created a surprise by largely beating PSG, with in particular an exemplary match by Alban Lafont (3-1). The reunion, in the heart of summer in Tel Aviv, will have a special taste.
