Boca goals vs. Tigre, final of the Professional League Cup: summary, videos, controversies and statistics

Boca is the brand new champion of the 2022 Professional Soccer League Cup! Xeneize won 3-0 against Tigre at the Alberto Mario Kempes Stadium and added their first crown of the year.

The confrontation began marked by the audacity of Tigre, who tried to impose conditions and thus had the first approaches. However, as the minutes passed, Boca was overcoming it: Sebastián Villa took advantage of a free kick from mid-range that the rival goalkeeper managed to save after a meritorious effort.

Shortly after, Darío Benedetto opened the scoring, but the VAR quickly called Darío Herrera and decided to cancel it. Pipa, who had defined quickly and well showing off his resolving capacity, was ahead by a few centimeters.

In injury time, when the waters were calm and they went to the locker rooms evenly matched, an accurate header from Marcos Rojo -added to a weak response from Gonzalo Marinelli-, gave Xeneize 1-0.

The second half started very differently. Tigre rearranged himself, his midfielders began to weigh down in attack and Mateo Retegui had three clear chances to draw. But he made a mistake and Boca does not forgive. At 67′ Frank Fabra surprised everyone at Kempes by putting together a vehement shot that hit the killer angle.

From there the result seemed irremountable and there was time for one more. Luis Vázquez was noted among the scorers with a great header. Thus, the Xeneize adds a new trophy to its showcase and confirms its cupbearer dominance.
