Whether it is good news for the German team remains to be seen. In any case, the spectators of the European Basketball Championship in the Czech Republic, Italy, Georgia and Germany (September 1 to 18) should be happy that Luca Doncic has confirmed his participation in the Slovenian team. The 23-year-old is still considered a basketball prodigy, leading Real Madrid to Euroleague victory in 2018 and then being brought into the NBA by the Dallas Mavericks. Despite his young age, he has been the leader there ever since, as well as in the team of the current European champion. Slovenia are opponents of the German team in Group B with France, Lithuania, Hungary and Bosnia-Herzegovina in Cologne, the direct duel will take place on September 6th. All NBA players on the German team have also agreed to take part, with Dennis Schröder leading the selection. Incidentally, Doncic will meet a teammate from the Mavericks in Maximilian Kleber.
