Since the start of the school year, Kathell Desmots-Chacun, who is finishing her third season at Rostrenen, has joined the France badminton center in Strasbourg. As a second-year student, she continued her studies in this city at the same time. She shows great determination for Saturday’s meeting: I will give everything for the club and show him that he was right to believe in me and especially to experience the rise to the Top 12 with a brilliant team. The Desmots-Chacun family, who lives in Riec-sur-Belon, traveled a lot to accompany the big brother and the big sister in tournaments, so Kathell, the little sister started badminton at the age of 6 . Licensed to the Quimperlé club, she was quickly noticed and her dazzling progress earned her to always be outclassed. At 9, she found herself in the France team. At 10, she experienced her first international tournaments. Vice-champion of France minimal in 2019, at 14, she joined the Bad club rostrenois. A club she knows well since her brother Thurian, one of the pillars of the National 2 team, has been playing there with his friends for two years. She came quite naturally to Rostrenen. Here, it’s a big family and as she is very young, it was very important. She was pampered there. They didn’t bring him just for his level of play. They knew how to integrate him into the team., reports Agnès, his mother, also a member of the federal committee. Kathell particularly appreciates Martin Boiveau, the team captain, who knew how to integrate her into the group and give her confidence. And she is progressing. In September 2021, she won the team silver medal (under 19), with the French team at the European Championships in Slovenia.
