Facing the “monster” Chambly

A full team

And it is an understatement to say that the RSMB team is competitive, with in particular Arnaud Merkle, French champion in 2021, or Thom Gicquel, very recently on the second step of the podium at the European Championships, in doubles , with her partner Delphine Delrue… The RSMB can also count on the Lovang brothers, Margot Lambert and Camille Pognante. The latter will also have a rather busy week, since she is one of the ten RSMB badminton players involved in the French Youth Championships, which will take place from May 26 to 29, still at the Regional Sports Center.

A national influence

“We had already organized these French Championships in 2018 and 2021, with the Departmental Committee”continues Pascal Ziegler, whose club also organized France seniors in 2020. The Cité du Bollwerk will therefore once again be the capital of French badminton for a (long) weekend, which will see no less of 550 young players on 12 pitches set up for the occasion. “We are asserting ourselves as a badminton training center and placing Mulhouse on the badminton chessboard in France, abounds the president. We want people to know that Mulhouse exists and that the city shines in French badminton! » With two national events organized during the week, the foundations are laid.
