Incredible scene from France.
In the second leg of the promotion relegation, second division club AJ Auxerre defeated France’s record champions AS Saint-Etienne (10 titles, the same with Paris St. Germain) on penalties.
Then the AS fans go crazy. Rockets, firecrackers, smoke bombs, pyros – the full program. Lots of rockets are fired towards the stands or in the direction of the players’ tunnel.
The players of both teams and the referee team can just escape into the catacombs.
In the players’ tunnel, it looks like tear gas was also used on the pitch. Lots of people keep their eyes closed.

In terms of sport, it should be mentioned that Auxerre, a real cult club, is returning to Ligue 1 after ten years. Saint-Etienne is relegated after 18 years.

︎ The French police also used tear gas against fans who tried to storm into the stadium yesterday at the Champions League final between Real Madrid and Liverpool FC. This affected many bystanders and also children.
