Bad debut of Salvadoran tennis player Chelo Arévalo in Rome

The Sonsonateco tennis player said goodbye to the Masters1000 just in the first round of the doubles

No margin of error. Tennis is a sport where there is no chance of losing because you are out of tournaments. The sonsonateco Marcelo Arévalo and the Dutchman Jean Julien Rojer, his partner in doubles, said goodbye in the first round of the Masters 1000 in Rome, a tournament of the Association of Professional Tennis Players that stands out for bringing together some of the best on the planet.

There are, among others, the Serbian Novak Djokovic, the Spanish Rafael Nadal, the Greek Stefanos Tsitsipas, or the German Alexander Zverev, all top ten in the world.

There, between the cream and cream, the best national racket debuted in the tournament along with his partner, and they said goodbye quickly, after falling 6-4, 7-6 (4) against the seventh seed, the Dutch Wesley Koolhof and the British Neal Skupski, 10th and 14th, respectively, in the classification of this modality worldwide.

Arévalo and Rojer fought as hard as they could, in a match in which their rivals almost always knew when to hit and created the best chances. They enjoyed up to six break opportunities, although they only made one (in the first set), just to take the first round. And in the second, everything was defined in the tiebreaker.
On the other hand, national and Dutch hardly generated an opportunity to break their rivals’ service, and they did not succeed.

The Salvadoran, who is already 23rd in the world (his best historical position) as of this week with the update of the last points, and Rojer, 26th, will continue to compete together this season in which the Cuscatleco has made history.
