Winner on his Cholet floor (84-82), ASVEL qualified in extremis for the semi-finals of Betclic Elite, with Dijon as their opponent.
ASVEL will be well in the last four of Betclic Elite. 48 hours after equalizing with a victory everywhere against Cholet, the Rhodanians ended the series on their Astroballe floor but, once again, nothing was easy for TJ Parker’s protégés. In front of their supporters, the Villeurbannais made the best start but without creating a significant gap, the maximum margin for ASVEL in the first ten minutes of this support match. The Choletais showed patience and waited the last minutes before returning to the locker room to increase the pace. Yoan Makoundou’s teammates (20 points, 5 rebounds) were then able to pass on the scoreboard for the first time since the first moments of the game. If the two teams then went blow for blow before leaving the floor, it was Cholet who turned in the lead with a two-point lead.

ASVEL started the third quarter with a bang. Elie Okobo’s teammates (17 points) signed an 11-0 to take the lead again and then reach the ten-point lead for the first time in the match. The Choletais then hung on to stay in contact, reaching the last ten minutes six lengths behind. The Villeurbannais accelerated at the start of the last quarter to reach an eleven-point lead, but the end of the match was not easy for the reigning French champions. Gradually, Cholet erased their delay but, despite a 12-3 in the last moments of the meeting, they failed at two small points from ASVEL. With this second consecutive victory (84-82), the Rhone club snatched their ticket to the semi-finals of Betclic Elite, with a best-of-five series against Dijon on the program.
