Arkema D1 Trophies: Katoto (PSG) best player of the season, Soubeyrand (Paris FC) best coach

There wasn’t really any suspense. Already voted best female D1 player at the UNFP trophies, Marie-Antoinette Katoto was again rewarded this Monday evening in Clairefontaine. The PSG striker, 18 goals this season in the league, received the D1 Arkema best player trophy. His contract extension has been one of the major issues for PSG women for several weeks.

In the typical team of the season, there are five PSG players: Paulina Dudek and Sakina Karchaoui in defense, Grace Geyoro in the middle, Kadidiatou Diani and Marie-Antoinette Katoto in attack. The eleven is completed by four Lyonnaises (Christiane Endler, Wendie Renard, Ellie Carpenter, Selma Bacha). Two players playing in Ile-de-France clubs, the French international Clara Mateo (Paris FC) and Rosemonde Kouassi (Fleury) were also selected alongside the two ogres of this championship.

Soubeyrand and Paris FC also in the spotlight

The Ile-de-France clubs of D1 Arkema were also honored with three trophies. Sandrine Soubeyrand (Paris FC) was voted best coach. The record holder (198 caps) of selections for the France team, who arrived at Paris FC in October 2018, has gradually shaped her group, with real ideas about the game and a good place left for young people trained at the club. Third, the Parisian club will play the preliminary round of the Champions League in August.

Arrived in Fleury last October from Africa Sports in Abidjan, the Ivorian Rosemonde Kouassi, 21, was quick to reveal herself on the grounds of D1 Arkema. She was voted top hope. Finally, it was a player from Issy who won the trophy for the most beautiful goal of the season: the Haitian Batcheba Louis, author of a scissor in Dijon (1-0) during the 16th day on March 12.
