Golden State coach Steve Kerr has responded with emotional words to the school shooting in Texas.
An agitated Steve Kerr got straight to the point. “I’m not going to talk about basketball,” said the Golden State Warriors coach at the press conference before the 4th semifinal game against the Dallas Mavericks: “Questions about basketball are not important.” After the shooting at an elementary school in Uvalde, Texas, which left 19 children dead, the country is mourning – again.
“When are we going to do something?” the 56-year-old shouted into his microphone. Tears welled up in his wide-open eyes, and Kerr slapped the table top several times with his hand. Tired of coming out here and offering my condolences to the devastated families that are out there. It’s enough!”
Kerr called for stricter gun control in the United States and addressed 50 senators who have so far prevented it. The eight-time NBA champion has long spoken out against gun violence. His father was shot dead in a terrorist attack in Beirut, Lebanon in 1984.
