After Real, Ancelotti steps down as (club) coach | soccer spain

Carlo Ancelotti took titles with AC Milan, Chelsea, Bayern Munich, PSG and now also Real Madrid. A track record that every trainer is jealous of.

At 62, he is counting down to his retirement. “I would like to see my grandchildren more and travel with my wife. I have never been to Australia or Rio de Janeiro. I would also like to visit my sister more. There will be more than enough to do,” says Ancelotti.

A critical voice might say there’s one thing missing from Ancelotti’s career: he’s never coached a national team before.

“Maybe that will come of it, but it will not be before the next World Cup. Who knows, there may still be a possibility in four years,” says the Italian.

Ancelotti is married to a Canadian woman and says she might see salvation in the national team of Canada. “That would be a great challenge. The Canadian national team is doing an excellent job.”

Real fans don’t have to worry for the time being. Their success coach doesn’t stop there just yet. “After Real I will probably end it, but if they want to keep me for another 10 years, I’ll stay.”

Ancelotti and Real are preparing for the return leg in the semi-finals of the Champions League. Tomorrow evening they will try to rectify the defeat from the first leg against Manchester City.
