Adebayo leads Heat to a narrow away win and series lead

The Boston Celtics trailed 2-1 in game three of the East Finals series. In the TD Garden at home, Daniel Theis’ team lost to the Miami Heat 103:109.

Center Theis was in the starting lineup but only had one point and three rebounds in ten minutes of play. Jayson Tatum, who had stood out recently, also fell short of his chances with just ten points. The Celtics never led, but reduced a 62-37 deficit to one point – 93-92, 2-40 to go through a 40-point three by Jaylen Brown.

Eastern Conference, Finals

In the Heat, who had to do without Jimmy Butler (knee injury) for the entire second half, center Bam Adebayo impressed with 31 points and ten rebounds. Game four of the series will take place again in Boston on Tuesday night.

Four wins are required in the best-of-seven series to advance to the NBA Finals.

The Dallas Mavericks, Maxi Kleber’s team, and the Golden State Warriors are tied 0-2 in the second playoff semifinal.
