Abused, the Warriors sign a big comeback to break despite a huge Luka Doncic!

Despite a huge Luka Doncic, it was Stephen Curry and the Warriors who had the last word last night in Game 2. The Californians, roughed up in the first half, released a 3rd quarter of which they have the secret to overturn the game and close their 19-point deficit to break the series with a 126-117 success.

Stephen Curry signs 32 points at 11/21 including 6/10 at 3-pts, 8 rebounds and 5 assists and Kevon Looney continues his superb playoffs with 21 points at 10/14 and 12 rebounds. Jordan Poole was excellent off the bench with 23 points at 7/10 and 5 assists for the best plus/minus of the match, +26. Klay Thompson adds 15 points at 6/10 and Andrew Wiggins 16 points at 5/14 including 3/5 from afar. The Warriors shoot at 14/28 from behind the arc while the Mavs have still shot a lot from afar, but this time with success: 24/45. The Californians dominate once again inside with 13 more rebounds and above all 62 points scored in the racket, against 30 for the Texans. Doncic tried everything with 42 points at 12/23 including 5/10 at 3-pts, 5 rebounds, 8 assists and 3 steals, well supported by the duo Jalen Brunson (31 points at 11/19 including 5/7 at 3- pts) and Reggie Bullock (21 points at 6/10 at 3-pts).

Largely dominated in Game 1, the Mavericks made a very big start in the wake of the Doncic – Brunson duo to lead 23-8. Steph Curry woke up his people to put them back in the game, 3 small points and after a quarter Dallas led 32-25. But the Texans resumed their march forward and again made the break, with great success, especially from afar, and taking advantage of the enemy’s lost balls to turn in the lead 72-58.

But the match tipped back from the locker room with an attack down for Dallas while opposite Kevon Looney scoring 11 points over the period, only 2 less than all of Jason Kidd’s team. The Warriors swooped down on the visitors despite Draymond Green’s 5th quick foul, but with a royal Stephen Curry in the quarter Golden State fell to just 2 points after 36 minutes. On their way, the locals quickly took the lead in the last act with a 3-point shot from Otto Porter Jr. then a basket from Poole. Looney, Porter and Poole put the Warriors in the lead 99-92 and never looked back with Steph Curry and Klay in relay.
