Zbrojovka Brno returns to the first league after a year, Žižkov descends to the CFL

Viktoria Žižkov became the first certain relegation from the second league after a 2: 2 draw with Opava.

After last year’s fall from the highest competition, Brno confirmed its position as the main favorite of the second league. Coach Richard Dostálek’s charges got to the top of the table for the first time after the 8th round, since then they have not let go of the lead and have only increased their lead. So far during the second league season, they have won 20 matches and scored only four defeats. Last year, Zbrojovka went down to one year in the highest competition, to which it returned two years ago after two seasons.

More than four and a half thousand spectators came to Králové Pole to celebrate the advance, who thanked the players for returning to the elite by chanting the “first league”. “It was not good that we had a certain advance before the match. We wanted to play it ourselves. But of course we are very happy that we managed to meet the promotion goal so ahead of time,” coach Dostálek told the press conference.

Since the introduction of the superstructure into the highest competition, only the winner has advanced from the second league, the teams in the second and third place are waiting for the draw. If the Spartan “béčko” were placed on the second or third place, the playoff would not play because the Letna family have an A-team among the elite.

Before today’s round, the Brno team led the table by 14 points and they could secure the final procedure themselves against Třinec or in case of hesitation by Vlašim. The Central Bohemian team in the Drnovice asylum soon collected Vyškov after the home Vintr hit in the 18th minute. Vlašim only managed to equalize, after an hour of play, Křišťan turned the penalty.

With the certainty of progress, the people of Brno could already play with Třinec relaxed and won 4: 2 in an open match at home in front of four and a half thousand spectators. Although the Silesians fighting for the rescue managed to catch up with a two-goal loss at the turn of the halves and equalize, then only the home team scored goals again. Řezníček opened the match, who secured the lead in the scorer table with the 16th goal in the second league season.

Vlašim holds the second place in the table with a two-point lead over the third “béčko” Sparta, which only drew with Jihlava 1: 1. The fourth Líšeň has the same points as the people of Prague. Last year’s relegation from the first league Opava on the field of the last Žižkov twice made a loss, but only drew and in the third place they lose two points from the fifth place. Only Victoria would save the native Victoria from the final descent. The traditional Prague team will play in the third league for the first time since the 2015/16 season.

Five of the six afternoon matches ended in a draw. Příbram with Chrudim (0: 0) and Ústí nad Labem with Dukla Prague (1: 1) also broke up amicably. Táborsko rejoiced from three points, winning 2: 1 in Prostějov.
