Luca Brecel will have to pull off a great session tomorrow to qualify for the second round of the World Snooker Championship.
On paper, the Thai Noppon Saengkham was a feasible card for the Belgian, but he piled up incomprehensible mistakes. Brecel missed a crucial black ball twice, after which the frame went to Saengkham.
Brecel’s opponent steamed on to a 1-6 lead at breakneck speed. At the end of the session, our compatriot could still straighten his back: 3-6. But making it to the second round will be a tough assignment for Luca Brecel.
