Christian Groß (33) is back at Werder shortly after a corona diagnosis. The defensive all-rounder drove up to the training ground in Bremer on Tuesday at 12.30 p.m. and then joined the team. According to BILD information, Groß was able to test himself free on Tuesday morning.
Lightning comeback after corona infection!
It was announced last Friday that Groß had been infected with the virus. Therefore, like the two central defenders Ömer Toprak and Milos Veljkovic, he fell out in the top game against Schalke (4:1).
However, the defense specialist already showed cold symptoms last Monday. This also explains the surprising e-free test now. In Lower Saxony (where Groß lives) this is possible seven days after the first signs if the person went directly into quarantine.
On Tuesday at 2.30 p.m. he will not be training with the Bremen pros again, but individually. The return is planned for Wednesday if further medical tests do not speak against it. Whether Groß is an option for the Friday duel (6.30 p.m.) against Kiel – the former team of coach Ole Werner (33) – is therefore still open.
