VIDEO⟩ Girgenson’s Sabers loses last-minute Eastern Conference leader – Hockey

The buffalo hockey players gave way to the Eastern Conference leader Florida “Panthers” with the result 3: 4 (3: 1, 0: 2, 0: 1).

Sabers scored all three in the first period when Jeff Skiner, Mark Pick and Victor Ulfson stood out. In the first half of the period, Claude Giruo scored one goal for the home team, while Patrick Hernnquist and former Sabers player Sam Reinhart scored in the second third in the Panthers.

With 37 seconds to go until the final whistle, Sam Bennett got Alexander Barkov’s pass from the left throw-in in front of the goal and sent the puck into the empty corner of the goal, cutting the “panthers” victory.

“Panthers” won the 30th field this season and continued to improve the team’s record. The 50 wins in one season are also a new record for this team.

“We didn’t take the opportunity to score two points or at least take the game to overtime to get one point. It’s not pleasant,” Sabers head coach Don Granato said after the match. “We lost at the last minute, but the positive thing is that the guys will learn from it.”

Girgenson spent 14 minutes and 30 seconds on ice on Friday, during which time the duel ended with a neutral efficiency factor.

The Latvian striker has scored ten goals in 47 games this season, given six assists and accumulated a negative efficiency of -6.

“Sabers” with 63 points in 73 games takes 12th place in the Eastern Conference, where “Panthers” with 106 points in 71 duel are in the first position.

The Buffalo team will play their next game on Sunday when they visit the NHL Championship Lightning.
