The equestrian center l’Etrier du Val Chevrier du Roc-Saint-André, municipality of Val d’Oust, organized an atypical egg hunt this Easter Monday!

2 sessions of 1h30 occupied 15 children on ponies, to go on an egg hunt, within the establishment. The children were divided into 2 groups: first 7 at 1:30 p.m., then 8 at 3:30 p.m. They were assisted by Marine the supervising instructor, the animator and the accompanying parents…

Much less traditional, this formula had the same objective, that of collecting as many hidden eggs as possible on the site, with the difference that the participants also had to collect hidden carrots and find 3 cards!

This method required, however, more effort and exercises, since the children had to keep their balance on the back of the animal, not to get off the pony, also to bend very often, a way to learn the basics horse riding for some, and perfecting skills for more seasoned children!

All the children won a bag filled with chocolates and for those who found the 3 cards hidden on the site, they were the super winners of the chocolate trophy!

Besides the egg hunt, the activity was complete. Beforehand, the children have equipped themselves, prepared their pony by brushing it, then sealing it. They participated in other pony games, such as archery and maneuvering exercises, such as ball games, circle games and slalom…

This playful activity helps develop equimotor skills, the relationship and sharing with the animal, based on listening and respect….
