Tsonga powerless against Cilic

The former world No.5 was quickly overwhelmed in the first set: he trailed 4-0 and was never able to catch up.

In the second set, on the contrary, he held in the first games, up to 2-2, before giving up his service game for the first time on a double fault.

Not only did he never unbreak, but he even lost his face-off a second time before losing on a final backhand return in the hallway. Tsonga announced on April 6 that he would end his career at Roland-Garros (May 22-June 5), his body making him suffer too much. He will be 37 years old.
