This Friday, Standard announced the signing of the first professional contract of young Thomas Mukendi’s career (16 years old). This defensive midfielder is one of the most beautiful promises of the Liège training center.
In 2020, Mukendi decided to leave Standard to join Club Brugge.
But last summer, the player knocked on the door of SL16 Football Campus again. Standard then agreed to reinstate him in its U18 squad but under certain conditions such as the absence of a contract and with reduced benefits compared to what the club offered him a year earlier (contribution paid, mileage costs reimbursed for the family…).
A few months later, Mukendi is rewarded for his excellent work at the training center.
