The ripense Ismael Muñoz, champion of Spain sub-21 of boccia

Ismael has competed in this Spanish children’s boccia championship against athletes up to 5 years older than him. This is the case of Francisco Bautista, the representative of the Valencian Community, champion in previous years, whom he defeated in the grand final after qualifying in the group stage with two wins and one loss in three games. “In the final Ismael surprised us all, he took strength from his weakness and prevailed in all the partials, winning the match 4-0.”, says Feli, the father of the Ripense athlete. “We are very happy, excited and happy,” he acknowledges.

About a month ago, as we tell you in this report where we review his personal and sports history, Ismael champion of the Madrid league was proclaimed of this Paralympic sports modality. He did it after winning the 10 games he played in the five days that make up the regional championship.

This victory gave this 4th ESO student at the IES Europa de Rivas the ticket for his next challenge: the Spanish Boccia Cup in absolute categorywhich will take place on May 21 in Seville.
