Several weeks ago, the 54-year-old Dutch-Italian suffered complications after emergency surgery. His death, following a long illness, was confirmed this Thursday by Tuttosport and other transalpine media.
He was notably an agent of big stars like Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Gianluigi Donnarumma, Paul Pogba, Romelu Lukaku or Erling Haaland. In 2016, he notably negotiated the return of Paul Pogba, the French international to Manchester United for a sum of more than 105 million euros.
After growing up in the Netherlands, he started a career as a pizza maker before becoming a players’ agent. His growing influence in recent years has made him one of the greatest agents in the world of football.
