The future basin of the Léry-Poses leisure park (Normandy) has been selected to host rowing, canoe-kayak sprint and para-canoe training for the 2024 Games.
An extremely sporty region, Normandy will have an important role to play in 2024… and even before. With a view to the next Olympic and Paralympic Games, the future basin of the Léry-Poses leisure park (Normandy) has been selected to host rowing, canoe-kayak sprint and para-canoe training.
The work launched on March 23
CEMEX Haute-Normandie, the Seine-Eure Agglomeration Community and the Léry-Poses leisure park in Normandy officially launched work on the site on March 23 during a ceremony. For the occasion, the two sections, which will constitute the pool, have been symbolically connected. A first section of 1500 meters and a second section of 600 meters are currently under construction.
At the end of the operation of the second section, the two parts will be connected to form a single basin of 2,100 meters. This distance will allow the hosting of national and international rowing competitions. With direct access to the Seine, this future basin will offer ideal navigation conditions and will allow both long and short outings.
A pool of 2,100 meters

Florence Boutmy, General Manager of CEMEX Matériaux Nord, assures that “We have shaped perfectly straight banks, the bottom of the basin has been leveled so that no eddy disturbs the athletes and trees have been planted on each bank to create a windbreak effect. Natural observation stands have also been created at the start and finish. All these facilities make the pool ideal for the preparation of athletes. »
