The construction of the municipal sports center of Pulianas begins

  • The new sports equipment will require an investment of 1.5 million and will be completed within a year

The president of the Provincial Council of Granada, José Entrena, has attended the laying of the first stone of the new municipal sports pavilion, together with the mayor of the municipality, José Antonio Carranza.

The president and the mayor, together with the deputy for Public Works and Housing, José María Villegas, and other municipal authorities, have toured the area -Fresno de Prado Mayor street- in which the building is planned and where other municipal offices are also located , such as the public swimming pool or the municipal nursery school.

The project is promoted by the City Council of Pulianas and will involve an investment of 1,541,849 euros, with an execution period of 12 months. The Provincial Council of Granada, for its part, has collaborated with the drafting of the project through the Public Works area.

Entrena has congratulated the government team for the implementation of this project and has recognized the “good management” of the mayor and the City Council, which aims to provide Pulianas with facilities that provide quality services to the residents of the municipality .

The pavilion is made up of a main sports body, a box that is taller than the rest of the building, which will house an open space of 44 x 23 metres. In this space you can practice basketball, handball, futsal, volleyball, and badminton.

This “multi-sports box” is flanked by two volumes of lower height, where the rest of the complementary spaces for sports use are developed: entrance with reception, public services, women’s and men’s changing rooms, referees’ changing rooms, installation rooms and storage. In addition, it will have a grandstand with a capacity of more than 360 people. In this area, a space will be set up halfway up, so that the public can stand above the stands, which have access to a continuous balcony that leads outside and offers views of the Sierra Nevada and the municipal swimming pool. Finally, the entrance to the building is through an open courtyard that will become a multifunctional space.
