After a loss of young graduates, the badminton club (Bsuf) de Forges is currently registering a significant ascent from workforce by caring for young children. President Bruno Stab paternally nicknames them “the mini bathrooms ».
Young players
The minibad is a category open to very young children younger than chicks. Their initiation is completely playful. The playing area is reduced and the net lower. Samuel Galmant, player and coach at Busf comes with happiness from Saint-Victor-l’Abbaye to offer sessions.
For teenagers, it’s Elliott Colange, coach and player, who from the height of his 17 years, sticks to it. He says “to invest himself completely for these last 6 years in the life of the club. »
I always come to have fun while maintaining a certain rigor because I feel that I am constantly progressing
Ines, aged 12, comes regularly from La Feuillie to the gymnasium of the Saint-Exupéry college in Forges to, in her words, “free myself from my anger”.
Same story from a young woman, Agathe, who started practicing this sport at 18 in college. A teacher in Neufchâtel-en-Bray, she finds in competition “moments of release from professional stress. »
The badminton club continues to smash on the playful aspect by favoring again and again the convivial character of the members.
Whatever the age of the practitioners and their technique, they find a family atmosphere.
The latter also gives personalized training moments to those who request it.
First sport to evolve in a mixed way
Founder of Busf in 2004, after having been active in badminton clubs such as Sommery or Gournay-en-Bray, Bruno Stab makes a rather encouraging inventory:
We are 45 licensees and we opened a second weekly gathering evening, frustrated as we were not being able to play indoors. We have 3 adult teams that participate in departmental meetings and a regional team. Our age range and girls/boys distribution is wide.
And to recall, just after the word coeducation that “badminton was, during the 1992 Olympic Games (Barcelona), the first sport to evolve in a coeducational way!”
And to conclude: “We regularly have adult and youth tournaments. We are organizing them here on the Pentecost weekend and will bring together at least 300 badminton players. But the leisure aspect remains privileged at least to 95%. »
