Tennis tie-break up to ten points in the deciding set – FFH.de

In all Grand Slam tournaments in tennis, a tie-break of up to ten points will be played for at least one year if the score is 6: 6 in the decisive set.

According to information from Wednesday, the organizers of the four most important tournaments in tennis agreed on this. Previously different rules have thus been standardized. The regulation is to be used for the first time at the French Open, which begins at the end of May, and is to apply to all competitions in singles and doubles.

One year trial period

So far, Paris has been the only Grand Slam tournament where up to two games were played in the fifth set. The super tie-break in Wimbledon, which only happened when the score was 12:12, is history at least for the time being. The new regulation is to be reviewed after a trial period in the coming year before it becomes permanent.
