Tabilo continues to celebrate in Sarasota and is already in the semifinals of the American Challenger

Tabilo (97th) clenches his fist in Sarasota. He comfortably beat JJ Wolf (151st) by partials 6-1 and 6-4 and got into the semifinals of the North American contest. Another match in which the Chilean demonstrates the great form that he has, widely surpassing his rival. In the semifinals he will go against Colombian Daniel Galán (128th).

The left-hander entered the quarterfinals with an extraordinary level, the one that has him entrenched in the top 100 and living by far his best season as a professional. He is already an ATP player and in these instances of Challenger, that level is clear.

Jeffrey John Wolf was the victim of an overwhelming Tabilo. On the American clay he looks very comfortable, because the Sarasota dust is one of the fastest. A) Yes mixes the learning he has had in Chile and the innate knowledge he has about cement. The fast courts bring out the best of the country’s number two.

From the outset he went bankrupt and made it clear that he would be the owner of the party. What came after was the demonstration of the best Tabilo, at least in the first set. Powerful with his forehand, confident with his backhand and active with his feet, point by point he set up an easy victory for the Toronto native.

In the first quarter he even came close to celebrating without having lost even one game.. Luckily for Wolf, at 4-0 he managed to take a set and make up a partial where he never had a chance.

And that pace seemed to be replicated in the second set. 3-0 almost without blinking and everything was in favor. But local support and self-esteem gave the American a boost. Tabilo also helped with that, with some games where he wasn’t as fine or as intense as before.

Level games, but where the lefty also knew how to maintain the advantage. No longer with the breadth or superiority of before, but still with the distance of a player who is for more important instances.

He finally took the match 6-1 6-4, after a last game where Wolf fell victim to pressure and ended up giving up his serve with a double fault. Tabilo was more precise, more courageous and more energetic than his rival. Reasons enough to end with victory. Another step for the title.

Special mention that once the meeting was over, Marcelo Ríos entered the field to congratulate him. The tournament is held in Florida, very close to where Chino lives, so the former number one did not hesitate to go see Alejandro.

Now he only has two games left to celebrate in the United States. A victory in Sarasota would be an important step thinking about what is coming: the brick dust european tour. An instance where Tabilo will be measured against the players who are at his level and who he must watch to continue advancing. Nothing better than prior to that, comfortably overcoming each phase. Now he will have to face Daniel Galán to play the match for the trophy.
