Thanks to their results and their efforts, the Sinaloan children’s and youth leagues from Mazatlán, Culiacán Resources, from the Sinaloan capital, and from Ahome were invited to participate in the MLB Cup 2022 that will take place in Mexico City from 17 to 20 april.
“Thanks to their high level they have been selected to be part of the third edition of the MLB Cup, the children’s tournament that Major League Baseball organizes in Mexico,” dictates in the statement where the invited leagues were notified.
In it, it is highlighted that the organizers will bear the expenses of the teams, which include transportation, lodging, food and operating expenses. This event is a great experience for 11 and 12 year olds as they get treated like Major League Baseball players.
It should be noted that the U-12 national team will come out of the tournament to represent Mexico in the World Cup in Chinese Taipei, which will be selected by Femebe managers with the best players in the tournament.
“Grateful to the Mexican Baseball Federation for taking Sinaloa into account and having invited three teams from our state. Also our thanks to MLB Mexico for continuing to do this type of promotion of children’s baseball and especially that they do it without any profit, in addition to Femebe. I wish the organizers much success and obviously the representative teams of Sinaloa,” said Fernando Hernández Rubio, president of the State Baseball Association.
A total of 24 teams participate in this contest, including the Municipal League of Tijuana, the Cucapah League of San Luis Río Colorado, the Regiomontana League, the IMSS League, the Olmec League, the Maya League, and the Yucatan League, among others.
