It is especially on the side of the female athletes that the medals have abounded in the tricolor clan. Starting with the most beautiful of metals, gold, which went to Shirine Boukli in the under 48 kg category, after her victory in the final over the portuguese Catarina Costa. The Gard athlete thus offers himself a second continental title after the one conquered in 2020, and takes her revenge after the missed Tokyo Games (she had been eliminated in the first fight).

If Boukli was the only one to bring back the gold, Amandine Buchard (less than 52 kilos) was not very far from joining her. Leader of the world ranking, Olympic and world vice-champion, the Frenchwoman had to bow after five minutes in the golden score, in the final, to settle for a silver medal. There is also another to report in the tricolor clan: it is for Sarah-Léonie Cysique. Defeated in the final by the Israeli Timna Nelson Levy on ippon, the judoka is not very far from an individual European title, as in 2020 (bronze) and in 2021 (silver).

On the side of the male categories, Cédric Revol, in less than 60 kilos, was to conquer a bronze medal after a good battle. Declared winner in the golden score against the Georgian Lukhumi Chkhvimiani, the Isérois obtains his first charm on a European scale. Also note Friday, the defeat of Priscilla Gneto (-57 kilos) in repechage and the complicated day of Daikii Bouba and Orlando Cazorla in the category of less than 66 kilos.
